Chef Maiyuu’s pineapple fried rice with bacon, and an avocado salad, this time using different shapes.

I am enjoying Bird Thongchai McIntyre’s song, Ja Dai Mai Leum Kan, from the soundtrack of the romance/drama, Best of Times, starring actor/musician Pae Arak Amornsupasiri.
Bird’s song sounds moody and uplifting, and makes a change from the frothy, upbeat stuff I have heard him sing lately.

Pae is the one pictured playing guitar, and wearing the light grey T-shirt, showing plenty of arm flesh.
Pae plays guitar for the band Slur. Now better known for his acting in movies and TV soap operas, Pae is a huge hit among the young, says Lyn of the Lakorns blog; he was mobbed when he paid a recent visit to Khao San Rd, with the beautiful Sugus (acting newcomer Sugus Banthawit Trakoonphanit, who is a bloke). Read about that here. See more of Sugus here.
I like Pae much more with his hair off (he used to wear it long), though I like his voice more than his looks.
You can see scenes from the movie shot through Bird’s MV, where you can judge for yourself which things about Pae you like the most.
In one scene, Pae asks a guy in his late 50s about the fact that he travels from Bangkok to the province of Chumporn every week, to see a woman friend he (the older guy) has met.
‘Isn’t that a long trip?’ asks Pae.
‘If you ask that, it shows you have never known real love,’ says his older friend.
In the next scene, Pae is driving a young friend somewhere.
‘It’s a long way,’ his friend complains.
Pae looks at him. Has he also not known true love?
Best of Times (or, Best in Time - ความจำสั้นแต่รักฉันยาว) looks sweet; the photography, stylised and clever. Film fan Wise Kwai liked it; his review is here. See still shots from the film here, and the trailer, here. Watch Bird’s MV here.

Readers will have noticed the shriek box in the sidebar on the left. An anonymous reader asked about friendship the other day, and a few responses followed in shriek box.
After I posted yesterday in response to his question, ‘Do you have any close Thai friends?’(No), more responses followed – in shriekbox, unfortunately, rather than in response to the post itself.
A plea to readers: Please save the shriekbox for quick, off-the-cuff stuff.
Leave comments on heavy/deep stuff, like the meaning of friendship in the Land of Smiles, in the comment section of posts if they address the topic. If the shriekbox were to stop working one day, I would have no record of what you’re saying.

Actor/singer Tar Nawin Yaowapolkul (ต้าร์-นาวิน เยาวพลกุล, or Navintar) says he’s fussy when it comes to women.
A PhD-graduate who recently returned from studying overseas, he also admits he thinks too much. His girlfriend, if he found one, would have to be a tolerant soul.
Tar is elder brother of actor ‘Win’ Tawin Yaowapolkul, who is handsome (or even beautiful) in his own right.
See the Win file here.

Oh that food looks lush. Maiyuu has done well, as always.
l really should make an effort to eat more healthily.
Don't you mean Bird's song "Ja Mai Dai Leum Ter"? (I can't forget you")
I was watching love of Siam the other day and it got me to wondering what Pchy is up to these days. Any idea? Has he come out of the closet yet? He needs to asap so I can start dating him!
Wilko: I am now on a diet, so I will pretend not to look at any sweet stuff he gives me.
Doug: No, I mean what I said: Ja Dai Mai Leum Ter. Listen to the lyrics.
Anon: I shall have a root around on the net for you, and find out.
Actually, Pae is just the guitarist of Slur, he gets no vocal time haha :P
the lyrics say Ja Dai Mai Leum Tur but unfortunately the title of the song is actually จะได้ไม่ลืมกัน (Ja Dai Mai Leum Gun) ... check the ost album, gmm sites, and also the title to the MV of the youtube link you posted :)
I noticed that on the YouTube page, but thought they must have made a mistake.
Thank you for letting me know; I shall amend the text.
