Chocolate fudge, hairy pasta, A Moment In Drudgery

Chef Maiyuu's chocolate fudge, neatly stacked on a serving dish.

He arranged his fudge creation and took these pictures while I was at work last night.

Also pictured here is yakisoba (Japanese fried noodle), with fried dried fish sprinkled on top, which Maiyuu made for yesterday's lunch.

Surely one of the must-see Thai films of the year, I said. That'll learn me! I hadn't seen O Nathapon's A Moment in June when I made that bold prediction.

His ensemble romance, starring Chakrit Yamnam as a gay man, looked so promising from the stills, but in the end left me cold.

Maiyuu bought the film on DVD at the 7-11 a few weeks ago, and I mentioned it at the time. I walked past the TV just as Chakrit was making love to some hairy farang guy.

I promised to provide a brief write-up after I watched the film in full myself.

After I put it on yesterday, Maiyuu lost interest after the first 20 minutes, perhaps because he had seen it before. I lost interest after the first half an hour, as it just wasn't going anywhere.

Arty, to the point of being frustrating. Where's the action? It is so surreal I felt as if I was watching a stage play (in parts, I am - Chakrit plays a playwright).

I don't want to say more, as it may grow on me over time. The file is here.

I had high hopes for "A moment in June". Then I saw it. A word to describe it would be DULL.

I think it'd be quite impossible to lose weight with that boy in the house.
