A flash in the pan?
Mario Maurer's new movie, 4 Romance, has made almost B23m at the box office after two weeks, according to figures compiled by Box Office Mojo.
For the Jan 1-4 period, the film made B3m showing on 61 screens. It has slipped to sixth place ranked by box office gross, after debuting in first place the week before.
In its first week, the film made B14.7m.
Compare those takings with Ananda Everingham's latest movie, the romance Happy Birthday, which after two weeks, has already made B34.8m.
Daily News newspaper has published a list of the top 50 Thai movies for 2008, including their box office takings.
4 Romance, a four-part movie on love made by four directors and starring a big cast, gets some buzz at the popular Pantip forum, but not much.
Some viewers say they enjoyed seeing Mario get beaten up in his part of the film, called Joop (Kiss). Others remark on the heavy product placement for Mama instant noodles.
Riveting stuff? Hardly.
Still, it did better than Mario's last movie Friendship, which according to the Daily News list, made just B15.6m.

caught the movie last week. Unfortunately, the Kiss was more like a piss. Oh! I just can't get enough of pitch and his Band in Dream. :)~
