Thai actor Mario Maurer has lost his Dad. Roland Maurer, 70, a German, died yesterday morning in Nakhon Nayok province, where he had been admitted to hospital.
Mario was in Bangkok when his mother called to say his father had died of a heart attack, which stemmed from his long-standing battle with diabetes.
He has cancelled modelling work and promotional appearances he was due to make for his upcoming film, Friendship, to return to Nakhon Nayok, where a Christian funeral service will be held for his father tomorrow, and a Christian burial service on Tuesday.
Mario's father ran a factory in Nakhon Nayok exporting deodorant made of alum, and Thai herbs.
